Dec. 23, 2024.
Dear friends in Christ,
It is good to have a day between Advent 4 celebrations and Christmas Eve to make a seasonal transition.
It is good to remember and pray for the many people who live under the thumb of some oppressive empire or another and are forced to walk dangerous paths this season, as Mary and Joseph did on the way to Bethlehem.
It is good to remember and pray for those who do not know peace on earth or goodwill to all.
I wish for you, your congregations, and your family and friends, a Christmas filled with peace and joy.
Thank you for praying for me and for your friendship, collaboration, and generosity in your work.
You may not hear it often enough, but you are deeply appreciated for everything you do to live out your baptismal vocation through acts of ministry. To the deacons and priests, thank you for the particular ministries you carry out.
Joy erupts in heaven regularly as we go about serving the ministry of Christ, our Light!
Merry Christmas, and may 2025 bring you many blessings!
